It feels illegal to be Iranian! and LinkedIn does not support Persian
Published: June 1, 2023

Throughout my whole life, whenever I have opened a website, all the countries have exited on the "country lists" except...

Guess what? Iran! (yes, my beloved country, Iran! ❤️🤍💚)

Whenever I wanted to add my mother tongue language to a profile...

Guess what? Again, it didn't exist in the list.

Today, again, I tried to add Persian to my LinkedIn profile and separate my English content from Persian (Farsi). Still, then again, I saw that even Bosnian, a language that only ~2.7 million people speak, exists, Danish, Swedish, Russian, etc., but Persian, which ~110 million people use, doesn't exist... 😶

--- seems like someone has wiped us from this planet ---

As an Iranian, when you travel, no matter which country you reside in, as long as you are an Iranian citizen (or have been or your parents are), you are treated like a dangerous t3rrorist! Your bag is always "randomly checked"! Want to open a personal bank account? Someone probably messes with you and says No! (I have heard a lot that bank staff even make up personal fear-based excuses for this even though legally, they are obliged to open an account for you if you reside in another country - due to tax stuff) Want to open a business bank account? No! Want to start a business? No! Want to rent an apartment? No! ... Often, people start a conversation with you with a smile, thinking you might probably be from Spain, France, or Italy, then after a while, when they ask where you are from, and they hear the word Iran, they panic, stop the conversation in the most wired way, and walk away fast! 😀 ... (the list can go on and on)

Having tolerated this level of inhumane inequality for almost 4 decades, now that I look back, it feels like I have lived in an era where being an Iranian and staying alive is illegal; thanks to all those fascists and haters who still exist under the fake mask of Zionism.

It feels illegal to be Iranian! - LinkedIn does not support Persian

We might forget things fast, but:

... Once it was illegal for black Americans to live freely, then Nazi Germany didn't want to let Jews live and didn't give them equal rights, and now it is time for Iranians to suffer from the same kind of pain.
