You might want to move to a new country to work or study, or you might want to immigrate and find a new "home" somewhere else. In any case, you might need to learn a new language to be able to communicate with the locals. But how can you practice your new language? You can use a language exchange app, but it's not always easy to find a native speaker to practice with. You can also use a language learning app, but it's not always easy to find a native speaker to practice with. Instead, you can speak with SpeakM8, an AI to practice a new language!

It doesn't understand me correctly, why?

This is just an MVP, but later on, I will make the speech recognition more accurate.

Does it work on mobile as well?

Right now M8 works on desktops and a few specific browsers on mobile. For example, on iPhone, you can use Safari, but Chrome doesn't work.

What languages are supported?

Right now M8 only understands and interacts in US English, but soon more languages will be added.

Are all the answers accurate?

This is a conversational entertainment AI, so the answers are not always accurate. But it is a good way to practice your language skills.

What if inappropriate words are used?

No promise here, but M8 will not respond to inappropriate words. At least it will try not to!

Please do not share any personal information with this AI. We do not have any ways to determine PII (Personally Identifiable Information) in the conversations, but later on, we will add a feature to filter out PII.

How long is the data stored?

Right now, for debugging purposes, the data is stored for 14 days, and after that, it will be deleted.

Can I choose the gender of M8?

Yes, you can choose the AI to be male or female.

Can I choose the age of M8?

Yes, M8 can be a child or an adult.

Is it free to use it?

Absolutely! In the next 3 months, this service will stay free, and you can use it for as long as you want. If the cost of maintaining it becomes too expensive, I might add a paid version for specific use cases.
